A Word from God
as received by Debra in 1988

I longed to see my family reflecting Christ, therefore I poured out my heart before the face of the Lord, crying out, “Lord, teach me how to raise my children until they are changed into Your likeness.”

From deep within me came this response—a response that would change our lives forever and, hopefully, yours as well.

“As in all spiritual things, the battle is won on your knees. Bathe each child in prayer.

I have given you a garden—their hearts.

I have given you all that you need. I have given you My Word and My Spirit. On that last day there will be no excuse, for I have given you all through My Son, Jesus Christ.

Fill their hearts with My Word. Plant My seed and surely a great harvest shall sprout. Through My Spirit I have provided you with all that you need. Plant My Word.

Pray, Pray, Pray.

This will bring the water needed for growth. For My Spirit shall be poured forth upon them and in them and bring my quickening power. He shall bring them to life.

You are like a gardener and these children—their hearts—are your garden. Pull out the weeds—the flesh, the world and sin—for they will surely kill the plants.

Protect your garden from insects—the enemy.

Plant, plant, plant in their hearts and you will reap a great harvest. Water through much prayer and the rain of the Holy Spirit shall fall, and surely much fruit shall be produced.

Do not allow My garden to lay dormant, for surely the weeds shall strangle the life out of each plant.

The insects—the devil—will eat them up and they will shrivel and die.

Plant them in the sun. Expose them to much sun—My SON—for Jesus the Light will bring much growth. They must learn to reach toward the Light, for much that they need will be found in the Light. The Son knows how much shade to give them. Do not plant them in darkness, for they will shrivel and die. Be vigilant in caring for this garden, and you will harvest much fruit for eternal life.

Pray. Follow the Holy Spirit, for He knows the best time for planting, and pulling, watering and sunning. He shall teach you to be the gardener that I have called you to be.”
