A chance meeting in 1998 proved to
be a divine appointment for Debra Bosacki and Kathy Boncher. While
waiting for their children in the parking lot of the school their
children attended, the two women started talking.
Debra shared a
word picture with Kathy that
God had given her years before...a word that encouraged her to plant
the seed of God's word into the garden of her children's hearts.
This word also birthed a desire in her heart to publish an
interactive prayer journal. The Holy Spirit quickly confirmed in
Kathy's heart that this was indeed His work, and so the two women
partnered together to complete this work and founded Garden of the
Heart Ministries.
In the following months, Debra and Kathy, both members of
Interfaith Fellowship in Green Bay, Wisconsin soon discovered
that even though they were very different individuals, they had two
important things in common—their love and knowledge of God’s word,
and both were avid journalers.
Soon after, they presented their first spiritual journaling workshop
to the women of Interfaith Fellowship; and later published
Washing with the Word Journal, an all-in-one tool that teaches
how to journal and how to wash your heart with God's Word.
God used that first journaling workshop as a springboard to open
doors to present seminars to women's groups of all different
denominations. And while Kathy has retired from active participation
in GOH, the ministry commitment and tradition continues through
Debra’s deep passion for women’s ministry. Through the leading of
the Holy Spirit, Debra continues to grow and add workshops, speakers
and other discipleship tools.
