Take Possession!
“How long will you put off entering to take possession of the land
which the Lord the God of your fathers has given you?” Joshua 18:3
I ask you the same question. How long will you put off entering to
take possession of the promised land God has given you? He has given
you the keys of the kingdom to go in and take possession of the
promises in His word. He has delegated to you the authority in the
name of His Son, Jesus, to release what He has already loosed and
bound in heaven.
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you
bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is
already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on
earth must be what is already loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19 amp
Jesus said in John 14:13, “And I will do whatever you ask in my
name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.”
Are you or your loved ones struggling with sin? Don't sit back and
do nothing. You can be free. Through prayer you can repossess the
territory of the heart that was surrendered to the enemy through
sin. Therefore, do not listen to the discouraging lies of the devil
that are telling you that all is hopeless and unchangeable.
“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world
does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On
the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We
demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against
the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it
obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 niv
Take those negative thoughts captive and demolish the devil’s
arguments by speaking the truth…God’s truth. Encourage yourself with
the promises of God, and pray them on behalf of your loved ones,
refuting the enemy’s lies. Release the promises and blessings of God
by persisting in prayer, and by thanking Him in faith for breaking
the power of sin over your life.
The devil and all of his cohorts are already defeated. They have no
legal right to oppress you. Look at what Jesus did when He died on
the cross:
“And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he (Jesus) made a
public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”
Colossians 2:15 niv
The word disarmed here means to undress completely, and thus
render powerless. Satan has been stripped and rendered powerless
over you, but he is a pretender and will try to deceive you into
believing that he still has power over you and your loved ones. But
just the opposite is true because God's word tells us otherwise.
"Behold, I give you the authority…over all the power
of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19
nkj
At the cross Jesus took away the authority of the enemy and
delegated it to His church…to those who believe in Him and obey Him.
Therefore, the devil no longer has authority over what rightfully
belongs to you. He is not the landowner. He is not in control. He
lost his authority over you when you received Jesus Christ as your
Lord and Savior. When you yield yourself to God, you walk in the
victory that’s already been obtained for you. Therefore, go in and
aggressively take back what the enemy has stolen.
Be on the alert however, because Satan will try to keep you from
taking possession of God’s promises. Through deception he will
attempt to convince you that you have to settle for something less
victorious. Your actions and words must remind him of your rightful,
authoritive standing. When you speak these scriptures aloud you are
declaring to him that he has been stripped of all power and is a
defeated foe.
“Do not be afraid of the enemy; earnestly remember the Lord and
imprint Him on your minds, great and terrible, and take courage to
fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and
your homes.” Nehemiah 4:14 amp
You already have the victory through the cross. Now you must fight
from the place of victory, not struggle towards victory. As you keep
your heart submitted to God, you are positioned in this place of
victory.
Put on the Armor of God and go forward, laying hold of God’s
promises in prayer. Begin to praise Him for the victory, for the
moment He heard your prayer, He sent forth the answer. Continue to
praise Him for those answers yet unseen.
Ephesians 6:13 reminds us to STAND firm, so STAND firm on His word
by faith, without wavering; having the full assurance that He Who
promised is faithful to do what He said He would do.
Heavenly Father, I submit myself to You. I lift up (name of loved
one) to Your throne of grace. I plead the blood of Jesus over
her/his heart and declare that Satan is a defeated foe in her/his
life. I also declare that the devil is powerless over her/him in
Jesus’ name. I resist the devil and all his lies, and he must flee.
I bind him inoperable against (name) . Release (name) from (list the
sin) . Conform her/him to the image of Your Son. I bind her/his
heart to Your word. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
