Curb the Crave

Curb the Crave
By Reneé Lubinski

During times of stress, fatigue, or emotional setbacks do you find yourself wanting to feed those emotional cravings with sweets, carbohydrates and other foods you know your body doesn’t need? The next time you possess a craving for rich foods, you can turn that craving into a signal that goes to seeking God.

Remember His Words: "I am the bread of life. No one coming to Me will ever be hungry again. Those believing in Me will never thirst" (John 6:35 NIV).

Jesus is the bread that truly satisfies, the place where true richness is found. You may be saying, "I agree, I love Scripture and truly desire to look to God’s Word and prayer as my primary source of strength, but in all honesty, today I feel the need for something I can touch, taste, and smell … in other words, something delectably sweet!"

Believe me, I understand! Nearly all of us know what it’s like to experience those crazy premenstrual urges for the big "C" (chocolate). Well, here’s some sweet relief just for you. Here’s a fun recipe I’d like you to get your hands on to, or better yet, sink your teeth into! Make this healthy chocolate recipe and enjoy!

If you find yourself craving those sugary sweets (especially chocolate), more often than not, you may be mineral deficient in magnesium. Try taking 400 mg daily and allow at least two weeks for it to take effect to notice a shift in your cravings. Most newly introduced vitamin or mineral supplements take a bit of time to take effect and communicate to your body that its there to take up residence. This is especially true if it is a mineral or vitamin that you have been previously deficient in.

If you have questions on vitamins, I invite you to visit trusted Christian physician, Reginald B. Cherry’s website and request a catalog to be sent to your home address.

Have you been inspired and encouraged by your visit to Temple Talk today? We at Garden of the Heart Ministries would really enjoy hearing from you! Please feel free to email your comments, suggestions or recipe ideas to Renée.
